Briefly:
My team has been tasked with an update to BCG Icons. We took this opportunity to not only refresh the look of the icons but also improve the design process.
In our approach to icons refresh, we focused on three areas for improvement:
Simplicity = less errors
Simplifying icons style in order to alleviate possibility of errors. Refreshed, single-line look of the BCG Icons with a lesser amount of design variables.
Modular approach
Allowing designers to create new icons by re-using icon elements grouped in 3 tiers of objects.
Leveraging Figma semi-automation
Using Figma as a design semi-automation, design review and approval tool.

Our icons have been used
on all levels of the business.
From presentations to
global social media posts.
